I hope folks waiting in line for tonight's show have a better experience with Bill Graham security than I did on the Lazaretto tour...

I saw him earlier this year at JazzFest in NOLA, and it was a great show. Expected another great one, and I got much, much better. Probably the best I've seen him live. When he brought out the Kay early for Hello Operator, I was PRAYING he would keep it out and do Catch Hell and was not disappointed. It was the one song I wanted to hear live after hearing the Lolla show.
Blunderbuss>Pocket>Blunderbuss was great. He did the first two verses of Blunderbuss, then went into the second or third chorus of Pocket and back to finish up Blunderbuss. It was super cool and unexpected. Stop Breaking down sounded like vintage Jack, his vocals were so spot on for the old Stripes songs. I would pay good money for a recording of that show.

Awww, sounds fantastic Did he do the first Stripes album version Stop Breaking Down, or the slower BBC version?

First Stripes album version. Quick pace. He did a John the Revelator snippet to intro one of the early songs I THINK, but I can't remember which.
I really love this band much more than past ones he's had. They have really good chemistry.

Oh, that's awesome!
And I agree that this band is terrific. They especially kill it on the White Stripes songs.

I've only seen Jack play Stop Breakin' Down once in the seven times I've seen him live. It was with Meg in 2007, on the organ.

He played the music for Death Letter but sang Stop Breaking Down. It was nuts. Ill do a better write up of both shows sometime this week.
