I know, that's the cruelty of it! Am free now, just a mad dash across London now to get there. Curse the early doors of these arenas!

Lillie-Mae and Dominic just joined Lucius on stage for their cover of Strangers.

Jack's on stage in 30 minutes.

Opened with FILWAG. Set included Astro, Voodoo Child, Apple Blossom and Black Math.

Jack dedicated the show to Ikey, and said he was playing the venue to make up for the fact the White Stripes cancelled it in 2007.

The band were great, but the crowd was the lamest I've ever seen at a Jack-related show. That said, I was in the tiered seating and not on the floor. But when you're the only person singing along to Hotel Yorba within earshot while the person next to you eats his venue-purchased waffle fries, you can't help but feel reaffirmed that arenas aren't where this sort of music belongs.

Admittedly once the encore kicked off and people stood up, the atmosphere shot right up.

Edited because I should really get me some Hendrix albums.

Hendrix's Voodoo Chile? How much did he play of it?

Gonna be honest, I'm not as up on my Hendrix as I should be, but 'Voodoo Child' was the one distinct lyric I could make out.

He did what felt like a verse and a chorus, segueing between Astro and Apple Blossom.

Oh, he also switched around the first two verses of Slowly Turning Into You, before it ended a little messily.

Dead Leaves was the encore opener.

Awesome gig.

Sounds wasn't great for the first half an hour-ish but it got way better after he left the stage to come back again.

Didn't hear voodoo chile? You sure he played that Nutter?

Crowd took encouraging, were quite flat but again got far better during the encore, maybe the sound had something to do with that. I don't think arena crowds are ever amazing though...

Overall they were awesome tonight and by the end I feel we'd turned that huge arena into a small club (in his words)

:)

Well, shit. Having now youtubed and listened Hendrix, no. That's definitely not what he played. (Sorry.)

There was definitely a lyric about a voodoo child in it, though. I'm standing my ground on that one!

Well, that was pretty shit-hot.

Jack was seriously on his game, and determined not to let the fact that it was an arena ruin his night or ours. So nice to hear the likes of Apple Blossom, Astro, FILWAG and BBS, and the new songs sounded amazing too. And goddamn, he didn't half play the shit out of Ball and Biscuit.

Club show indeed.

Also, at the merch table afterwards, they still had plenty of posters but were sold out of the Lazaretto vinyl. This made me smile.

I thought it was a kick ass show.
Couldn't have asked for better seats - close on right of the stage - thanks to the Vault.
The sound where I was was spot on.
Nice and clear and loud compared to some other gigs I've been to at the O2.
Soundboard was to the right hand side of the stage which may explain that.
Friend I took was a Jack White virgin and thought it was one of the best gigs he'd been to. Wants to see him again.
Didn't spot any 7s?
Passed on the merch other than the poster (have spare if anyone there needs one ) which I prefer to the last London one.
Tour t shirt was £25 which is a bit steep.
I thought some of the new arrangements were great and man Jack really played the guitar like he had something to prove.
Smashed his bottle on the stage, knocked out half the drum kit and generally worked the stage really well.
On the downside Jack did say this was would be his last London performance for a long time - sigh.
