Is Jack having back problems again? His Tele had some ergonomic strap attached to it that looped over his right shoulder and wrapped around the back of his mid-section. Normal straps on the acoustics. Didn't bust out the (presumably heavier) Triple Jet. Seemed strange..

Either way, phenomenal show. I Cut Like a Buffalo was definitely the highlight for me. They have that song pinned.

Incredible looking poster. Mine's going under glass immediately.

In my opinion, Jack's voice hasn't sounded this good since his '07 tour with Meg.

That was possibly the best Jack White related concert I've ever been to. (The only White Stripes concert I ever attended was at Madison Square Garden which wasn't indicative of The White Stripes at their best).

Why wasn't the MSG show them at their best? I hold that show in very high regard.

The show was fucking amazing. OMG I've fallen in love all over again. Amazing versions of Black Math and 7 Nation Army.

One bad thing: there were too many fucking people there. It was definitely a fire hazard. . .Jack is probably too big for that venue.

:offtopic:
I'm not saying it was a bad show, I clearly remember walking out that night more than satisfied (I'm Slowly Turning Into You was incredible), just that the venue itself wasn't the ideal place to see the band in. In comparison to other setlists at the time (i.e. Irving Plaza show), the MSG setlist had very little surprises and ended way too soon. Edit: Looking back at the setlist, they played Wasting My Time and Cold Cold Night, so perhaps I just remembered it wrong.

Back on topic.

Indeed. It makes me wonder, and a bit nervous, about where he will play next time he's in NYC.

That was epic. Catch Hell Blues put a smile on my face like no other song could at that moment.

I asked the music gods for THREE things:
1. The boys
2. Ball & Biscuit
3. Catch Hell Blues

Apparently they were listening to me!!

Very happy camper making her way home.

Felt the exact same way. Those two songs were amazing and I couldn't believe when he started Catch Hell.

CBS local review of last night's show.
Source: http://newyork.cbslo...e-monday-night/

For his second song, White chose to cover the best-known track of his openers, entitled “Hold On.” It was hard to tell if the cover was in homage, for the benefit of any audience members who missed them, or because White felt he could do the song better.

When his first set ended, White advised the crowd that “up next: Mr. Jack White.”

The stage was entirely reset and the audience was subjected to a tedious 30 minute break that didn’t appear to thin their numbers at all. When White and his all-male band returned to the stage, in case any fans had grown exasperated with the show thus far, he opened with his White Stripes classic “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground.”

Entertainment Weekly review, had forgotten about the New York Times joke he told: http://music-mix.ew....lroom-new-york/
