Great, isn't it! It was his 35th birthday (you can see at one point "Happy birthday Bob" flag in the audience), it was raining, it was the end of the tour and everyone was tired, but what a gig.

Here is the complete 46 min. broadcast, I suppose you're familiar with it, though:

I haven't yet sat and watched the whole thing, only bits and pieces. But I love the heck out of that performance of Idiot Wind.

"In a few days Bob Dylan will visit Stockholm and give two concerts. The Swedish Academy is very much looking forward to the weekend and will show up at one of the performances. Please note that no Nobel Lecture will be held. The Academy has reason to believe that a taped version will be sent at a later point. (Taped Nobel lectures are presented now and then, the latest of which was that of Nobel Laureate Alice Munro in 2013.) At this point no further details are known.

The good news is that the Swedish Academy and Bob Dylan have decided to meet this weekend. The Academy will then hand over Dylan’s Nobel diploma and the Nobel medal, and congratulate him on the Nobel Prize in Literature. The setting will be small and intimate, and no media will be present; only Bob Dylan and members of the Academy will attend, all according to Dylan’s wishes."

Just watched Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid for the first time. Pretty much the worst Western I've ever seen. Lots of gratuitous boobs and horribly fake blood. And Dylan's part seemed as gratuitous as the boobs.  The cinematography and the soundtrack were terrific, though.

Best scene ever! Pity the song isn't on the official soundtrack:

I listened to that ^^ this morning.  I love the rhythm to the way he speaks. And I was both fascinated by and laughed out loud at how he summarized parts of Moby Dick and The Odyssey.  He tied it all together wonderfully, though.
