This is hardly relevant, but I wanted to say that today I was on the computer and had the TV on. Suddenly I heard "Tiny Spark". At first I just recognized the song, but couldn't put my finger on the artist...just knew that I had the album. I looked up to see Jennifer Aniston eating something off the ground, it was in the movie, "Along Came Polly". That movie was from 2004, I didn't buy his Lapalco until '05. Just felt like sharing...

hey, did brendan's myspace page have this before, or has it just been added?

Michigan-born, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Brendan Benson debuted with a critically acclaimed first album “One Mississippi” in 1996. “Lapalco”, the follow-up album brought him his first taste of success, with hits such as “Good To Me” and “Tiny Spark”. “The Alternative to Love”- Brendans’ third album - was released in 2005 which included the singles “Cold Hands Warm Heart” and “Spit it Out”.
Around this time Benson started writing songs together with friend Jack White, of the White Stripes, and came up with tracks such as “Steady As She Goes” and “Level”. They soon formed The Raconteurs along with two members of The Greenhornes- Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler. In the Spring of 2006 they released their, now world-famous, album “Broken Boy Soldiers” which was recorded at the in-house studio at Brendans old home in Detroit. This has since been followed by the 2nd album “Consolers of the Lonely”, which is out now.
Brendan has produced, recorded and/or fiddled with records by The Greenhornes, The Whirlwind Heat, The Waxwings, and The Muldoons.
In-between this producing, touring and recording, he has also been in the studio recording his fourth solo album with Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters) which he will be releasing in 2009.

I like the new layout of his myspace too. :)

OK everyone, I know I'm horribly late with this, but when those new Brendan demos leaked over a year ago, I didn't find out until after all the links expired and I have literally been searching for them ever since. I've obviously heard the ones he put on his myspace and website, and I've managed to find a download of Purely Automatic, but I would be forever grateful if I could trouble someone for downloadable copies of:

-Poised And Ready
-Feel Like Taking You Home
-Eyes On The Horizon
-Go Nowhere
-Forget
-Will It Keep
-Lesson Learned
-Untitled (aka Poisoned Mind)

Anyone who comes through for me shall be rewarded handsomely with many thank yous and smiley faces.

I'd love to be of help to you if I could, but alas, I, too, need these copies. If someone could upload to mega or yousendit, I think there's several of us who would greatly appreciate it. It can be like a sort of EP or something...

oh, I want them, but I feel like, if I listen to them, then I won't particularly care about the album release. Whenever the hell that might be.
