When is it acceptable to start listening to Christmas tunes?

My rule is not until after Thanksgiving. Once Turkey Day has passed, it's on like Donkey Kong.

The only Christmas music I like to listen to at any time is the comp that Tim uploaded here a couple of years ago.

I was lucky enough to get a trove of holiday music from Tim when he got me in the CD swap.

I'll have to try to remember to re-up that one he did a couple years ago for anyone not around then. Wish Tim was still around...

I miss Tim.

And I guess I'd say it's acceptable after Thanksgiving.

Tim needs to get back here... uhg.  In fact, so does a lot of folks... but hey, that's besides the point and a whole other topic ;)

Yeah, I'd be interested in his comp, don't think I have that, if it was made public.

Yeah, sometimes I will watch this (all 15 parts!) on one PC while I work on my other PC.  It calms me down when I am too stressed to focus on something.

But this time of year I lay off so that I can get in the spirit closer to the holidays.  Thanksgiving is a good rule but in my book you can break it if you get a snowy day in November.

I think when the first snow arrives, which is probably like tomorrow, it's already below 0 c degrees.

But time for singing Xmas songs is all through the year. I enjoy Jingle Bells in the shower any time of the year. And I keep the curtains that say "Merry Xmas" in the windows through the year, because uuhh, it's a pain to change curtains. So the Xmassy ones have been up for years.

My rule is nothing Christmas-y is played, sung, erected or displayed before December 1.  Otherwise I'm sick of Christmas before it actually gets here.

I'm with Brian on this one.  After Thanksgiving.
