I'll defintely get their album day one but their evolution has been drifting away from my tastes every album.

i don't know.
reflektor (the track) is fantastic. i also like we exist, it has a good build and i really like the bassline. i love normal person. the rest doesn't really stand out to me, at least right away. it kind of seems like there's not a whole lot here. maybe it's because the songs are so long and repetitive, i'm not sure. i do like the album and am going to keep listening to see if it grows on me, but i can't imagine that i'll end up liking this as much as any of their other releases.

I feel as though it's their least cohesive effort. There are little chains of songs all over the place.
Reflektor and We Exist seem like statements on technology.
Here Comes The Night Time, Normal Person and You Already Know all seem like the song is "live".
Joan of Arc, while I like, seemed odd as a final track.
The there is Awful Sound (Beatles Tribute) and It's Never Over (It gets better the more you listen to it).
Porno is 3 minutes too long and the garbage at the end of Supersymmetry should have been axed.
That being said the album has grown on me very fast, at least on a track by track basis.

I feel like it will grow on me, but initially I feel like there isn't as much emotion as there was on Suburbs, or the earlier two albums for that matter.

i haven't got the album but i listen to cbc all the time and reflektor go much airplay before the release. i never got the feeling "yeah, i wanna get that album" and i have many disco albums. i like disco. i think that i think it isn't why i was drawn to arcade fire. i saw them open for U2 of bands and i was sitting in a hockey arena with many fucking stupid people on their phones waiting for U2. i was with my sister and we looked at each other and said, "who is this opening for U2?".
they were AMAZING, their sound filled my ears and my ears wanted to eat them up. i guess it's tough to follow that but when i heard reflektor, i said, "what the fuck is that? that is arcade fire???". i understand that the band has to grow for themselves but to do disco isn't a growth. that's already been done.
alas, what do i know. NOTHING is what i know.

At one point the band is set up about 10 feet from my position. Some big tall dude in a tall hat comes over to my section with a tiny girl in a fantastic studded jacket. I said to myself, there is no way I am moving over for you, you too tall dude. He stood right beside me. Brushed each other's arms for about 15 minutes.
They went back to the "VIP" section. I didn't notice. Then, the two guys behind me tap each side of my shoulders. Do you like Arcade Fire?
I said, OH, ohhhhhh, yes I do. And looked over at them and larfed . Hahahaha.
