We've known it was coming, and now it's coming soon--

I guess Third Man was also frustrated with the uneven quality from the other pressing plants.

Actually, they're continuing to have most of their records pressed at United, as they have been for the past several years.  They opened their own plant in part to be able to help out some of the smaller bands that have trouble getting onto the schedule at larger places like URP.

Ah, gotcha.

I ultimately don't have a stake in this, because I don't own a turntable.

*ducks for cover* ;)

The fact that there are now companies producing brand-spankin' new pressing machines is excellent in itself. Now all we have to worry about is the mastering process. I'm waiting to hear about all the Millenials becoming apprentices of the current crop of old dudes who master to vinyl.

Here is an article about the plant from Rolling Stone: Inside Jack White's New Vinyl-Pressing Paradise - Rolling Stone

And here is an interview Jack did about it.

The place is pretty damned incredible, with Jack's usual whimsical attention to detail.  And the records pressed so far are sleek, flat, and sound terrific.  I just wish the tour had been longer, it was only about 5 minutes.

WOAH!! Maybe you could book a show or two while your here as well. Hard to tell who might be on tour at that time. Wait is Lolla the first or last week of August? That would be a good time if it's during your week.

I havent booked anything. But i shall if i hear of anything concerning our boy Jack. Since Jack is now confined in a room writing songs on a 4 track, i can hope. We all can hope.

Not sure if the video will be posted onto YouTube through Vice's channel, but for those who do not have HBO, I recorded the feature Vice News did on Third Man Pressing with Jack.
