Here are some pics I took at the show. I managed to get the rail even though I didn't get early entry so that was really nice !

Amazing show! I had kind of lost interest in The Dead Weather recently - only listened to Sea of Cowards a few times, wasn't keeping up with their recent performances / news, etc, but Tuesday night was spectacular. It was also great to meet so many of you from here and the Vault. (soberstripe - no problem!). I'm super jealous of everyone who gets to see the band again in Baltimore!

Oh yeah, forgot to say that I thought Harlem were a lot of fun. Reminded me of the Black Lips.

We must have been standing close - I was like 3 people away from where the pick went - no one caught it! - bunch of girly girls! and then someone was crawling around on the floor using their cell phone as a light to find it!

Incredible, amazing show!!!!!

I do agree about the sound mixing on the voices - they were turned down way too low for my taste. Sometimes when the crowd was singing along I could barely hear the voices from the stage. Don't get me wrong - I love a good sing along, but I would rather hear Alison and Jack singing than some dude from Crofton!

Also, I always wear earplugs and it was still WAY loud. I loved that the crowd got so into it - many times the DC crowd just stands there.

I am SO glad that we get to see them again in Baltimore....

Met some little roomers too - which I always like!

I was the first person to dive down onto the floor. I think I searched around for a good 10 or 20 seconds before I gave up figuring someone else had already gotten it. Once I got up and the people around me saw I hadn't gotten the pick, people started searching around with their phones and stuff. So frustrating!

And sorry I haven't gotten those videos up yet. I have about a minute of Rolling and a little bit of the end of WTBEW

Hey gang! Just found out that the Cold War Kids will be playing a free show at Baltimore's Artscape (Artscape.org) this Saturday. In putting the word out, I thought it would be fun/helpful to have a thread dedicated to all of the fine music that comes through the area. Check it out and please contribute!

Seconded and thirded on everything everyone said above. Very freaking loud, Jack's mic was poorly mixed so couldn't make out a word of any of his banter with the crowd, but there was no mistaking the way he covered his ears and grinned as we all screamed ourselves hoarse during their bow at the end of the show.

I hope to hell someone got video of WTBEW. Even with the drunk chick calling out to Jack and Alison, it was tremendous. Jack was on-fucking-fire.

It was so much fun meeting junx (thank you again!), Deron, and LaFemme. Looking forward to Baltimore next month!!

I'd say more, but I just poured it all out into a blog post and I'm wiped out. Please don't consider this shameless self-promotion, but I gotta get a couple hours sleep before going to work today: http://kalidurga.blo...t-930-club.html

I have video - going to post it to the vault as soon as it's finished uploading on my FB - I got about 7 minutes of the solo before I stopped because of the drunk chick (she was right behind us) - then caught the last two minutes.

Ah, fantastic! Can't wait to see it. Were you one of the people she was crushing into the rail in her attempt to get to the stage?

Wonderful first post, by the way. Welcome to the Little Room :)

It's finally up! Luckily, no - she wasn't crushing us... we did had her hands in our face most of the night - so horribly annoying. Here's the link WTBEW and the second part WTBEW pt 2

It's the head of the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Edit:

ohhh kinda like this? My link

That's exactly it! And talking about it isn't hijacking the thread. As far as I'm concerned, the thing was practically a fifth member of the band that night.

Well done spastic jerk!
I have not seen that movie, most old monster movies in fact, i guess i missed them all somehow.

As far as I'm concerned, the thing was practically a fifth member of the band that night.

Posted ImageI couldnt even put into words how loud i just laughed. Had to clap my hand over my gob as my kids are supposed to be lullabying to sleepyland.
It was certainly competing for attention like a 5th band member Posted Image

The Creature From The Black Lagoon and The Mummy are really the only two that I ever dug the entire series' of but you should defintely check out the early 30's and up to the 50's monster flicks from Universal and shit - some of the best shit out there, but the Creature is :Pthe best
