Can't wait! I'm not bringing a camera this time (that little poem Jack posted on the Vault a while back about people and their gadgets kinda spooked me out of it) but I'll probably have some crappy iPhone video up late tonight if anyone's interested.

Totally stoked for tonight's gig, a year ago to the date. Shame that they haven't been doing I Can't Hear You as of late but here is to hoping they'll jam it out tonight.

Have fun everyone.

Well, first off, it was loud, devastatingly loud to be exact. Sold out DC gig on a sticky, rainy, humid southern night was a total success in my mind. The crowd was into it, the band was into it, just an overall back and forth that was electric.

I'll do my best for the order of the set-list.

60 Feet Tall
Hang you From the Heavens
You Just Can't Win
So Far From Your Weapon
I Cut Like A Buffalo
No Horse
The Difference Between Us
I'm Mad
Gasoline
Rocking Horse
Rolling in On a Burning Tire (is this the first time they played this?)
Hustle & Cuss
New Pony
Die By The Drop
Will There Be Enough Water

Encore:

Blue Blood Blues
I Can't Hear You (so freaking loud at the end, just blazing)
Treat Me Like Your Mother

Goodnight D.C. - Jack was visually very very happy with the crowd and said something like "Damn, DC y'all are loud"

Highlights for me: Hustle & Cuss had a really cool breakdown towards the end where it got quiet and then grooved really heavy

60ft Tall: Perfect Opener, Alison is on another level when she does this number.

I Can't Hear You- The ending was too powerful almost, just flat out awsome.

Take care everyone!

So loud. So amazing. So much energy. So much tighter than last summer.

Ditto to everything Izzy just said. Fucking awesome.

Oh, and I got THIS close to getting Jack's pick for the second time in a row...last summer I got elbowed in the face by some fangirl as I was reaching for it. Third time's a charm, I hope.

I got about a minute of phone video of Burning Tire because I think it's the first time they've played it live. I'll get it on Youtube if you guys wanna see.

oh that sounds like a good one! (psh! like it would ever not be good, but it's nice when the audience is loud and feeds the band).
of course we wanna see the crappy cellphone video! I'll be searching you tube anyway. can wish I were there a little more.

Seconded and thirded on everything everyone said above. Very freaking loud, Jack's mic was poorly mixed so couldn't make out a word of any of his banter with the crowd, but there was no mistaking the way he covered his ears and grinned as we all screamed ourselves hoarse during their bow at the end of the show.

I hope to hell someone got video of WTBEW. Even with the drunk chick calling out to Jack and Alison, it was tremendous. Jack was on-fucking-fire.

It was so much fun meeting junx (thank you again!), Deron, and LaFemme. Looking forward to Baltimore next month!!

I'd say more, but I just poured it all out into a blog post and I'm wiped out. Please don't consider this shameless self-promotion, but I gotta get a couple hours sleep before going to work today: http://kalidurga.blo...t-930-club.html

Hey Thanks Kali Durga! I dont mind clicking through to read it.
At the Melbourne show i didnt know what the hell Jack said to the crowd until i heard the recording someone made...
with Jack-on-fucking-fire and the crowd roaring loud enough for him to cover his ears, i hope some shows up on youtube to distract me from cabin fever.

oh cool there is a couple up anyways.

Nope, the earliest I've seen listed so far was the Berlin show on the 1st July...

Thanks for the set list :)

The 9:30 club is loud as hell it seems. But the sound is good and it's a nice tight venue. So glad to hear that everyone enjoyed themselves. As far as NRP goes, we would have recieved something via email and would have listened live.
