I really enjoyed this one. Didn't see the opening band because I didn't get there until after they'd played. Still got an OK spot in front of Dean maybe halfway back. The people around were all into the show but not going totally berserk.

Pretty good setlist although no "I Can't Hear You". Jack's little twirl of the drumsticks during the start of "Hang You From The Heavens" is mesmerising to watch. LJ looks totally different with the beard. Dean has more stage presence than I remember from before. Alison was great to watch (without trying so hard that she became a parody of her own act)

There was a poster (think it was by Silent Giants) and loads of T shirts.

It was roasting hot in there though...

Excellent excellent gig, i agree.

Opening band were musically pretty good, but their attitude and stage presence were pretty terrible.

Loved the setlist, there were things I missed, but nothing I would have cut out, so I was very satisfied.

The crowd were okay for the most part, except during Treat Me Like your Mother, when some kids started getting rowdy and tried to pick a fight with me. They were easily ignored though.

The poster was by Silent Giants, it was pretty nice, but I did not have enough money/ :(

I noticed the little drum stick twirl too, very nice. I also had a brilliant night, I have no voice left today though. My boyfriend loved it as well, this was his first dead weather experience and the music isn't usually really his thing but he commented a lot on how great they sounded. We were at the front of the raised section so we had a perfect view of it all.

I thought the support band were AWFUL.

Oh and nice to see the eye backdrop made another appearance.

Karen, I have to agree about the support band, not really my thing. The Dead Weather on the other hand just blew me away. I have to admit that watching some of the festival appearances put me off a little. It wasn't getting me excited for this gig, but put them in a dark room with a really responsive crowd and it was quite overwhelming. Right from the start they were so on form, everyone was totally rocking out. Jack had the hat on and you could tell they meant business. Alison was all over the crowd and grabbed someone's hand from the barrier and she really looked like she was trying to pull them out. I was standing on the right at the barrier in front of LJ. Everyone was dancing but still pretty respectfull of folks space. It did turn into a bit of a mosh on Treat me like your mother. Everyone was singing "you blink when you breath" refrain. I love when I can hear everyone in the crowds voices singing along. They seemed pretty happy when they finally left the stage. I hung around for an hour to see if they would come out but I eventually gave up and went home. I still had an hour's drive and it was starting to get cold. I took a few pictures but they didn't come out too good. The lights were seriously bright and the strobes were on a lot and my camera just couldn't handle it. It couldn't handle Alisons frantic dancing either, but here they are anyway.

Last couple. Alisons hair creeped in on the first one. She is pretty flexible!

That last shot is excellent. Thanks very much for sharing :)

I absolutely love that backdrop, I want a photo of that all by itself.

ahhh good eye, I was looking at Jack and didnt notice the detail, oops!
and now that I take another look, that eyeball glows really nicely! It looks like an eye peeking out from several masks at once.
whats with the umberella's?
Jack is using his white guitar again?
and there is a shot of veronica's hair in color!

Yeah I wondered about the bass drum too, thought it was covered over at first.

And I have no ideas about the umbrellas either. Although it was a rather wet day in Glasgow on sunday, compared to the heat and sunshine they would have gotten at Glasto.

Gotta wonder if Veronica's out on stage just for show or for potential use. It would be a fantastic surprise if Old Mary popped up in any of the upcoming setlists.
