Just announced in The Vault:

The Dead Weather will be releasing three versions of their single “Blue Blood Blues” this week including, most excitingly, on a brand new format entitled the Triple Decker Record™. The Triple Decker Record ™ designed by Jack White and assembled by United Record Pressing Nashville, TN is a unique 7” version of the single embedded inside a 12” version. Triple Decker Record ™ will be available in a limited edition of 300 copies, 100 of which will be on-sale at the Third Man Records store in Nashville, and the remainder available randomly through mail order and at select brick and mortar vinyl dealers worldwide.

For those not lucky enough to pick-up the Triple Decker Record™, an alternate 7” version of “Blue Blood Blues” with a double-sided cover will be available as a standalone purchase and comes with b-side “Jawbreaker (live). Tri Color 45s of the single will also be available. The 12” version will come with alternate B side “No Hassle Night”/”I Just Want to Make Love to You” (live).

The 7” and tri-color 45 are available today at Third Man Records and via the web store. The 12” and Triple Decker Record™ will be available in the same locations on Friday, September 17th.

Why, oh why did I not choose this week to go to Nashville?

GOD DAMMIT, WHY DON'T I LIVE IN OR AROUND THE GREATER NASHVILLE AREA!!!!

You lucky people, you. Looks like I'll have to scour one off eBay or sweet-talk a LittleRoomer into grabbing me one.

"Available at select brick and mortar record stores worldwide."...HMM! I wonder if any of those might be located in or around Philadelphia....one can only hope! Am I correct in saying this is the first limited TMR item since "Horehound" to be available outside of TMR itself?

Or keep your fingers crossed that it gets inserted in your online order ;)

Oh well, ya know, I didn't even think of this, and seeing that I order EVERYTHING that comes out of that place, let's hope I get lucky. :)

Soundgarden in Baltimore's a very nice brick'n'mortar record shoppe. Wonder how one could find out which stores it might end up in...

I'll probably call a bunch of places to see if they have them in stock. It's probably the most efficient way of finding out.

Does anyone else ever have trouble with logging into their account at TMR's store? I always log in before adding something to the shopping cart, but when I check out and pay, it logs me out and invites me to create an account....
Sorry to dominate half this thread.....

Gah Kali beat me to it. The 7'' is up for sale.

I know where it won't be available . . . <_<

But I'm totally confused (again) anyway. So you can order the triple decker but you may not get it. (Or you may, in which case the others would be duplicates?) You can also get BBB as a black 7" and as a tri-color? But the 12" has "No Hassle Night/I Just Want to Make Love to You" on the B-side? have I understood that right?

Because if so, it's the 12" for me.

I'm confused too, do we order the 7" and we might get the 12" triple decker or tricolour? or will there be a regular 12" up to order? :S

There's now a short vid up of Jack demonstrating the wonders of the triple-decker.

The Triple Decker won't be available until this coming Friday, the 17th. The regular 7" is available now.

Swank has now explained: random tri-colors with 7" orders, random triple-deckers with 12" orders.

I want the 12" even more now.
