Obviously this is not a definite list, but this is what I have uncovered. If you have heard any other cover songs performed at any concerts or have any correction on who wrote what please let me know so I can update this. This latest version includes covers that Jack performed with Beck as well as when The Stripes were guests during the Jeff Beck shows. Songs Jack has produced that are covers are not included. This list is getting out of hand and some of the origins still cannot be found but I'm determined to keep some semblance of definitive list going. I have tried to label which songs have not surfaced on any bootleg as well. For detailed information on lyrics, and dates played please check the insanely helpful site at: Expecting. I use this site religiously and a lot of work has gone into it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes, 'Not Fade Away' was originally done by The Crickets. There are at least two cover songs to be modified - 'Louie Louie' by Richard Berry and 'Boys' by The Shirelles. If The Beatles had written it, conservative fans at that time would have been embarrassed.

No the Boys cover is the one by The Beatles unless The Beatles covered the Shirelles version.  Here are the lyrics from Expecting(the part in bold is the part Jack performed during Girl, You Have No Faith In Medicine at Voodoo Fest):

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The Beatles version was a cover. They did quite a few covers on their early records. ;)

And there's also:

Cool Drink of Water Blues - Performed Live (usually as part, or at the end, of Ball & Biscuit) - written by Tommy Johnson.

Although when Jack doesn't sing along with it, I think he plays the riff more like: Smokestack Lightnin' - written by Howlin' Wolf (Chester Burnett)...which I know I've mentioned elsewhere...sorry.
