Sudden.  Shocking. He was only 52 years old...

I'm not sure what to add to this because you used the first words that popped into my mind this morning, Brian.  This one's going to hurt for a while.

That it will. I've been listening to a lot of his stuff today, especially his debut solo album, which I love. And who can forget Sunshower. Such an amazing song.

The first one that popped into my head was this one from Audioslave--

So sad I still can't recover.

He played in Chile five times in the last ten years. That means a lot to us. :(

:( :( :(

He struggled for a long time with depression. I remember reading an interview with him where he talked about it and I think it may have been around the time of Audioslave.

What a voice~~~sighs~~~~ and what a tragic loss for his family and friends. Ugh~~I can't take it :(

Just shows you ... you can literally have it all and still not be able to escape your demons.

Very sad indeed.

Well, at the very least, we can be sure the other member of the original, 90s Seattle lead singer quartet (including Cobain, Cornell, and Staley), Eddie Vedder, won't suffer a similar fate as the others.  By all appearances, despite some of Pearl Jam's music being rather dark in nature, he appears to be a pretty upbeat individual.  A surfer dude, even!

I know not everyone's a big fan of Pearl Jam, I happen to love them.  So, for those PJ fans.. it's time to wrap Eddie in bubble wrap and place him in a bunker with a full medical staff!
