I agree about her vocals being a bit too affected, though.
That's why. Usually too much squealing and other "sound effects". When she just sings, though, as on this track, her voice is much more appealing to me.

I think it's sort of the Grace Slick, Jefferson Airplane style of affectation.

I don't remember Grace Slick squealing.

Maybe not the squealing, but the theatrical nature of the voice.

holy shit, listening on tidal right now, just midway through I feel love, but having a whole album in front I have this curiousity about how the thing goes on from that point, it's like maybe it wasnt best single but works great as album opener, let's see how it goes
edit : dont wanna spoil too much (and yeah, I am suprised), but the previously released songs sound a lot better now, wow

About on par with the last Bieber LP. Which is to say, not bad, not bad.

Please allow me to join the ranks of the Three Dollar Hat fans. I might listen to the rest of the record later. Or I might just set Three Dollar Hat on repeat for the next three days.

Three Dollar Hat almost needs its own thread, there's so much to talk about with that song. The Frankie & Johnny/Stack-O-Lee mash-up, the lines he pulled almost directly from Mississippi John Hurt's version which makes this song like what he did with Blind Willie McTell and Three Women, Jack's vocals, the main riff, the crazy drumming when the tempo changes in the middle, Alison's 't' at the end of the word 'hat' and how it echos the cymbals... It's fucking far out.

I really like it, some fantastic tracks, familiar Jack production and a few left field tracks. Impossible Winner is so different to their other stuff and absolutely highlights the best of Alison.
Three Dollar Hat is so odd haha, need to listen to it a few more times, love the way it ends.
