Maybe it's because this was my first show (and I've been kicking myself for years over a missed opportunity to see them open for Dylan,) but I have no complaints. They were awesome. I was front and center in the upper balcony, which I was wary of at first, but it afforded me a comfortable and perfect view of everyone on stage for the entire show. A nice change of pace from the struggles I usually deal with as a short person on the floor.

While my weekend didn't go exactly as I expected, partly due to my failure to make proper plans, things worked themselves out and I had a great time. It was definitely worth the trip to Atlanta.

What did you guys think of Young Hines, the opener?

I enjoyed about the first two songs and then, unfortunately, the singers voice began to grate on me. I wanted to like them because they had a great bluesy groove, but nothing else about them appealed to me. Seemed like they could have some potential, though.

I felt the same way, to be honest, though I didn't really have a problem with the singer's voice, just his hat. But after the first two songs, which were promising, I started to lose interest, and basically just felt they weren't yet ready for prime time. Sorry. :(

Young Hines had an excellent groove but I was put off by some of the lyrics:
"I'm not saying my shit don't stink, but yours does"
"Give me my fucking change back"
etc.

anybody else feel the same?

I caught some of those. Wasn't offended by them, but that's certainly not pithy stuff.

I haven't had a chance to go through all of them because she took a LOT, but this is one we saw Sunday night that was really very cool--

Another great shot from our new friend, Nikki--

Can't remember which song this was towards the end of the set, but Brendan had come over to play next to LJ while Jack was at the mic. At the end of the verse, Jack backed up and then spun around towards PK. Brendan's quick reflexes were the only thing that saved them from collision. Fun moment :)

Those are some great pics, thank you for sharing them!

About the set list, I think Switch and the Spur was the only song between You Don't Understand Me and Intimate Secretary. I could be wrong though, of course. Anyone else remember?

I made a playlist on youtube out of the best of what's available on there, arranged in chronological order as to my best ability/memory. If anyone is interested, here's the link... http://www.youtube.c...BCC2894DF566C23 I plan to keep updating it as more stuff gets uploaded. ^_^

You are correct, they did not perform Together in Atlanta.

And thank you very much for the playlist! I havent' had a chance to watch much from the show yet, so that's an excellent way to finally do so :)

I wasn't offended by them, by all means i love some musical profanity, more so i thought those lyrics were kind of corny. All members of Young's band came out and talked to the crowd after the show, and were super cool. The bass player told me that the catering for the Raconteurs was really fancy Thai food, which I thought was kind of funny. They also had an exceedingly attractive girl going around giving out download cards to those who waited after the show

No, I cut and pasted the setlist from setlist.fn without reading it, my bad.

They did soundcheck it, though. Wonder why they didn't play it?

Couple shots of the venue, too. Absolutely beautiful place to see a show-- the walls, balconies, and ceiling are painted with very cool patterns.

And the old pipe organ that dominates the stage (The megaphone belonged to Young Hines. And those are the monitors that aggravated me so.)--

It was indeed a beautiful venue.

Here's another one I really liked (we invited our new friends to join us here at the LR--if they do, please help us thank Nikki for the wonderful pics!)
