It's gotten to the point that a show's not official until I see the official thread. Thanks, Colin! :)

I should be arriving in 3 to 4 hours. I have no idea how to get there. I should probably look into that.

Ben Swank ate BBQ. Brendan Benson watched about 20% of a Pujol song. William is a huge pain in the ass.

I don't know which was worse, Ronnie Dunn or Sheryl Crow. But it's 10 minutes to Raconteurs time!

From reading twitter, it looks like the crowd is really small for a festival.

FUN TIMES.

It was fairly miserable sitting through Ronnie Dunn and Sheryl Crow [who kept referring to the crowd as "Detroit" despite the fact that we were about EIGHTY MILES from Detroit], but it was worth it in the end. There wasn't a mass exodus of people after Sheryl Crow like we'd been hoping, so I didn't get as close as I wanted, but I could still see just fine. And good lord, have these boys still got it. The set was a little loose in places [Jack has adopted the tried-and-true Bob Dylan method of mumbling incoherent strings of syllables when he forgets a line or two, while Brendan just gave up and laughed] but loose for the Raconteurs would be spot on for most other bands, so they still sounded great.

Highlights were Top Yourself [I die/swoon a little every time they slow down before that last verse "How you gonna rock yourself to sleep..." and tonight they came to a full stop, started back up in a much slower/bluesier tempo and then Jack sang that whole first line about four times before screaming the second HOW YOU GONNA GET THAT DEEP bit], Broken Boy Soldier and Blue Veins. The guys seemed genuinely happy to be playing together and to be in Michigan [Brendan gave Little Jack a huge hug at the end of the set] and Jack kept commenting on how good it was to be back. He dedicated Old Enough to his mother [who was watching from the side of the stage with Karen and Henry and all sorts of other people] and "all the other beautiful Michigan women".

I had fun hanging with Tim and Allen and William, per usual, and I'm sorry I didn't get to meet anyone else! I didn't get there til about seven and I know Tam and Helen were off being VIPs, so next time! ;)

Endured Sheryl Crow to get second row in front of Jack, face officially melted by Blue Veins. Mind-blowingly great show, despite lack of Keep It Clean (or other covers). More details when I'm awake tomorrow. All-around great day. :)

(Tim, great meeting you and hope you and the boys got a good spot. At the TMR stage earlier, I'd said "Do you think that's Tim over there?" and Tam said "He's acting like Tim . . . ")

Edit--Just read your review, Lily, we posted at the same time! TOTALLY agree about Top Yourself. *swoon*. Next time for sure!
