It would probably excite me if I knew what it was . . . Tell me--I've been away, y'know (in, erm, New Orleans  ).

OK, I googled it--but I don't see the Racs anywhere?

Well, it's not on the official site yet but here is an announcement of sorts from indeed, a reliable source! Helen, will we finally get to greet each other in NOLA after years of near misses?

I really REALLY hope this is true!!

It's really not huge, HUGE. I've been to several Voodoos including the Stripes show there in 03 and always found it a pretty nice fest. Weather is a bit cooler of course than Jazz Fest (which IS huge), it's not super expensive and the grounds are really pretty as it is held in City Park spread between 2 main stages. Plus, being that it's on or around Halloween, the costuming in the crowd can be jaw dropping. I'm excited!

On the one hand, it's exciting as heck to see all these shows popping up. On the other hand, why all festivals? When are some small venue dates gonna be announced? Huh?? I'm dyin' to see this band up close and intimate.

And on yet another hand... Whoever goes to this show, y'all have a blast, ok? :D

I just saw somewhere, and I can't remember where, that they're going to headline the Sunday show.

I'm wondering if these festivals are sort of trial balloons, to play in the new material before committing to full-length solo shows? Just a guess.

Too bad it's so hard to go to everything!

They've listed Sunday 30th on their (Racs) Facebook page. Doesn't say they're headlining, wish I could find where I read that.

maybe change my plans and go to NO for Halloween instead of Nashville?

edit: or maybe I'll just wait for them to play in DC - that's an expensive festival...

Unfortunately it seems you can't get individual day passes, as you can for Jazz Fest, so it's $150 for the 3-day pass. Which in itself isn't a bad price if you were actually going to go for all three days, but . . . (And incidentally, this smiley <---- wants to know why his eyes don't swivel anymore. :( )

That first idea crossed my mind for a millisecond, but there's just too much I want to do in Nashville. Plus, I was thinking of a few days in Mississippi again. So I'm sticking with Nashville and fervently hoping for the second option.

I was so happy to see this announcement the other day. Like most New Orleanians, I've been following the super slow lineup leak (some marketing thing they're trying out) religiously. So far, most of us have been rather disappointed. After Cheap Trick, Snoop Dogg, Soundgarden, Odd Future, and a bunch of electro garbage, I started doubting that I would attend this year. But now I obviously will be.
My past two chances to see the raconteurs were thwarted by some pretty villainous people.
Finally I get to see them.

aqua, last year they did single day passes but they weren't available until the whole lineup/schedule had been released. i know this because i only went on friday and saturday last year because i only wanted to see muse and eagles of death metal.
