CHVRCHES brought their synth-driven Glaswegian pop to St Jerome's Laneway Festival last month, and overcame a few false starts and power outages to put on one hell of a show. The Trio turned the Dean Turner Stage into a house of worship with an ethereal set from their debut album, that featured big ol' hits like 'Lies', 'The Mother We Share' and 'Recover'.

I love this band.
Weird fact: I was just on vacation with my sister, antique picking in off the track locales in Oklahoma. We stopped at a Sonic in Kickapoo OK to get some soda pops and tater tots and The Mother We Share was playing over their PA system. Was a cool Sonic, Bowie's Space Oddity came on next.

Cool. I've heard TMWS once on the radio and saw the video twice on Much Music (Canada's version of MTV). They need more air play here.

Just barely made it into the 102.1 The Edge session. 2 songs were aired live on radio. Another song was played just for us....about 40 of us. A shitty pic...
Then went to Field Trip Fest. Facking hipster assholes everywhere!

I think he enjoyed it. Probably didn't dawn on him at the time. There was a lull before the start of the radio session so the band talked to the audience. I asked about the border crossing the night before (no problems this time, didn't have to get off the bus) and if they were going to Canada's Wonderland theme park (Martin wanted to go but Lauren felt it might be too far a drive). I also said 'hi' to them as we walked past as we went into the session room.
