Thanks!  Normally I don't like to rhyme either, I'm not very good at it.  But I submitted some of my stuff into a song lyric contest, and I wrote a bunch of new ones.  Songs just don't seem right unless you rhyme.

The Wayfaring stranger Threw Down He`s Disguise,
And Watered A Seed With A Tear From His Eye,
In An Instant A Rose, Arose,
Arousing Passers By,
Does This Beauty Have A Name They Asked,
Sarah`s heart Was His Reply

A Happy hristmas from,

Albert Loren

Your tears suspend anger
Bite my tongue
Don't look back
In to the world which I belonged
It's not home
Amber, smokey stone suspended
Upon a silver band
On my fragile finger
On my fragile left hand.
Promises, promises
I had no choice in the matter
Follow the map to the broken place
Your words suspend regret
Leave me here by the willow tree
Where you said you'd love me 'til I died
And bury me so the seagullswouldn't come
And stake a claim on what was once yours
The second hand is suspended
Not moving
Time not advancing
I had no choice in the matter
Lord knows I could have tried to make it work.
Your tears suspend anger
Bite my tongue
Don't look back
In to the world which I belonged

When the horse broke its leg
In the woman's womb
On the lady's tree
I broke the yokel
Over my knee
And rode The Red to town
They turned my front
And they asked me
"You break that ol' man down?"

"Of course,
He was cold,
No mystery"
He stank of dirt and tires
His life and snoring history
Writ by late night fires

First his wifey's picture
Then his wifey's gown
He tore his girl from the house
And burned her memory down

She screamed to stop from the top
Of a pillar of black smoke
The old man shrugged and gave a tug
On the pillar
Filled with hope

"Help me, dear?"
He asked, real ripe
Smacking her tits
Stoking his pipe
Cracking her lips
Stroking her flight
She run again
To heaven's blight
Never again
That ol' man's tight

Tighter than a ball of string
Tighter than a call to bring
The icicle through the Spring
Tighter than all the things
He always said
To always bring

"Damn right,
I broke that ol' man down"

I think I like this. To the best of my knowledge, Degener Unus is Latin for "fallen one".

Degener Unus

Starless, lightless, moonless night,
Endless, breathless as I faded out of sight
I rode the unicorn through the enchanted forest
To find the flower of life; forlorn and uncherished
By the monsterís death toll.
Then the flower withered before my eyes
Gone forever more, drowned by my sin.

Oh how I wish for a silver rain
Oh how I wish to be made pure again
Lost in my dust, fallen to shame
Degener Unus forever shall be my name.

Sleep with faeries, drink the Entwine,
Never to be bound for home
Look for angels, no, not this time
Nothing to save me now
Lost forever by my own transgressions
The listless bloom now does show
Sometimes what is lost is lost for good.

Oh how I wish for a silver rain
Oh how I wish to be made pure again,
Lost in my dust, fallen to shame
Degener Unus forever shall be my name.

Epitaph, carved in my grave
Holding the withered bloom that I once saved
Sail on a ghost ship, to Avalonís bay
Degener Unus forever is my name.

lightposts and alleyways
crazed children
and girls in little red dresses
lead the way for the rest

the boy and his green sneakers
tread through snow and slush
to get to her house

Timeless, lifeless, shadows reflecting into the night
Insects lament the great loss though verse
The stars sweep tears of mourning through out the monstrous sky
Whilst the wildflowers bemoan the horrendous curse.
Demise grows dull throughout the night
Screeching the coldest sound
The grace of God would appear tonight
Could it but be found.

Tresses and locks descend down her limbs
And she wakens in a whole new serenity
Midnight gust flows throughout the sepulcher
Exhaling onto the beauteous virgin
Attending the maiden for all of eternity.

She loved him like no other
To him she gave her soul
Together they would be forever
Together one and whole.

Angels, ensure her tomb is guarded well
Clouded with blossoms of lily white
Nymphs, be attentive through so many years
Be of thought and care through so many tears.
Tresses and locks descend down her gown
Her face with pallor glow
Necromancer has no life to give,
For she gave away her soul.

I usually don't post here...but i just came up with a poem when I was walking home and i saw a big bright yellow golden rod that looked like the sun. So here goes:

" Golden Rod On the Floor "

Walkin' home
Sun so bright
Sun so burning
I look down , golden rod on the floor
I keep walkin', golden rod on the floor

Up the stairs
No one's there
Waiting for me.
Look at the door, there's a note
I look at the door, there's a note

Take it off the door and read it
It says : " Sorry hon, but we've left you
figured you're old enough
to live by yourself."

I took down the note
read: " sorry hon, but we've left you
figured you're old enough to
live by yourself.
You're too much for us
Why not be someone else's problem?
Too much for us
be someone ele's problem.

Open the door, no one's home
For once they didn't lie
I realize I'm hungry, so i go to the kitchen
Note on the fridge

Take it off and read it:
" There's a sandwich in here for you
There's a sandwich sittin' down for you."

Me and the sandwich both alone
Me and the sandwich with nothin' to look foward.
Me and the sandwich, just waiting to die.

Get too hungry, decide to eat it.
Something wrong with my partner in crime.
I die.
I become the morgue's problem now.
Guess momma was right.
Guess momma was right this time.

you broke everything including my heart
for that you're going to hell
i don't know about myself
i might go as well
or i just might roam this cold, desolate world
a lost, broken soul
waiting for someone to put it to rest
later in life
i might find someonewho can heal my heart
and put it back from its pieces that remained
someone sees the sadness in my eyes
if i could cry crimson, i would
i saw you again
your eyes, your face
i sight i didn't want to see
i'm sorry for being cold
i had my heart smashed in front of me with no mercy
my heart has been chained for so long
that it forgot how to love and how to hate
it became stone
my heart saw medusa and was scathed with hemlock
i long to love you and give you a chance
but i can't
i don't know how to explain this to you
for i have never explained myself to another person about my feelings
sometimes i wish i never met the person that slowly killed me from the inside
i wish i didn't let him, but i did
how stupid of me
now i suffer not being able to love you

I used to be in a creative writing group at school and miss it dearly...This thread seemed like a good place to share, so share i shall!!

Chestnut locks surround a face
Which swirls and whirls into silky lace
This stranger stands so tall and thin
Like a delicate flower emerging from her skin

Lilac blooms and bitter sweet scents sooth her gentle soul
Soft grasses and moss pillow her pace,
The forest is her home,
Her palace of safe

The envious gods above did not see innocence
They only lusted for her pure soulful beauty
Like all other mortal men,
They were guilty of one great flaw,
Loving without any love at all

Only one man did not see,
He was ignorant at the wrath of dragons
Walking idly through her gentle forest
Without a though of the sights that were pleasantly bright and cheery
He crushed the proudest of flowers as he swiftly passed by.

This innocent nymph of the wood saw him pass,
She saw a brilliant light and followed thought the narrowest of paths.
She called his name,
Dying to be heard,
Her sweet soft words only coming back and falling to the dirt.

This man finally rested by a cold dark pool,
He started at the glistening shallow waters that mirrored his depth,
He was enticed by the reflection that stared back.
What beauty before him!
What grace and poweress of the sparkling eyes,
Rosy cheeks, yellow hair spun of gold
All resting in a shadow.
He did not move, afraid that this image of perfection would dissipate
His feet rooted as his soul slowly sank.

The nymph stood by, paralyzed with grief
Her mortal god sat distantly apart with ignorant stupidity
She called out his name, and only caught back used words.
With every sound she cried, each word falling heavily to the earth
Slowly filling the pool that would drown her soul,
She cried out his name, feeling nothing but a silent echo.

All the poems here are amazon!!

I didn't write it..........but one most love the comedic efforts of ancient poets

'Twas on a lofty vase's side,
Where China's gayest art had dy'd
The azure flow'rs that blow;
Demurest of the tabby kind,
The pensive Selima, reclin'd,
Gazed on the lake below.

Her conscious tail her joy declar'd;
The fair round face, the snowy beard,
The velvet of her paws,
Her coat, that with the tortoise vies,
Her ears of jet, and emerald eyes,
She saw: and purr'd applause.

Still had she gaz'd; but 'midst the tide
Two angel forms were seen to glide,
The Genii of the stream;
Their scaly armour's Tyrian hue
Thro' richest purple to the view
Betray'd a golden gleam.

The hapless Nymph with wonder saw:
A whisker first and then a claw,
With many an ardent wish,
She stretch'd in vain to reach the prize.
What female heart can gold despise?
What cat's averse to fish?

Presumptuous Maid! with looks intent
Again she stretch'd, again she bent,
Nor knew the gulf between.
(Malignant Fate sat by, and smil'd)
The slipp'ry verge her feet beguil'd,
She tumbled headlong in.

Eight times emerging from the flood
She mew'd to ev'ry wat'ry god,
Some speedy aid to send.
No Dolphin came, no Nereid stirr'd;
Nor cruel Tom, nor Susan heard.
A Fav'rite has no friend!

From hence, ye Beauties, undeceiv'd,
Know, one false step is ne'er retriev'd,
And be with caution bold.
Not all that tempts your wand'ring eyes
And heedless hearts is lawful prize,
Nor all, that glisters, gold.

And she'll leave you on the side of the road
And she'll make you walk with your head hung low
And no matter where you go
And no matter what you do
You'll kill the ones you love
And it works the otherway too

love is a promise
love is a souvenir
once given, never forgotten
never let it disappear
