For $10 this might be worth it even if it's not a true headlining show.

"special headlining set from this year's PLUG Impact Award Honoree Nick Cave who will be taking the stage with the legendary Bad Seeds. The Awards will be March 6 @ NYC's Terminal 5, 8pm (EST).

Huge thanks to our friends at Dell Lounge for making what was originally a $25 ticket now just 10 bucks for all. So cool.

For those who won't be in town, we have amazing news this year - fans will be able to go to the Dell Lounge and watch the whole thing broadcast live as it happens March 6. More info soon!"

Well considering it's a classy, sit down theatre and not a dingy club, it's not THAT expensive.

Shows like that are around $60 here too.

edit: I hate you jerks that get to go.

I've never been to the London venue but the Glasgow venue is far from classy. The other problem is black lips on the same day. oh noes.

God I love his lyrics.

I was walking around the flower show like a leper
Coming down with some kind of nervous hysteria
When I saw you standing there, green eyes, black hair
Up against the pink and purple wisteria

iTunes Live
2nd March 2008

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Spiritualized

“It’s great to be performing alongside Nick”, says Spiritualized’s Jason Pierce. “Shows with him always seem to raise the bar for everyone involved. It should be a good night”.

http://www.ituneslive.co.uk

Over 11 magical evenings, starting on Thursday February 21st, 2008, iTunes will host a series of unique recording sessions. More than 25 of the world’s most talented musicians — including KT Tunstall, José González, Tom Baxter, Roísín Murphy, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Spiritualized and many more — will perform solo and collaborative sets in London’s legendary AIR Studios.

Entry to these special events is free of charge for competition winners. The performances will be recorded and sold exclusively on iTunes.

I never thought I'd see the day Mr. Cave would be sucking the massive teat of itunes. I don't know how I feel about this.

He makes music - for profit. You do know that, right?
He gets paid by his record label to make music so they can sell it.
He gets paid by itunes to make music so they can sell it.

Where's the problem?

First off, you can lose the attitude. Second, I merely find this mp3 oversaturation... unsavory. Not enough to write Nick off completely, however.

From what I've gathered of Nick's attitude from his past interviews, it seems like iTunes would be something that would greatly disgust him. I'm a bit surprised to see him taking part in this too... but then again, that's been happening so much with artists suckling the teet, as you said, that it still didn't come as a huge shock. : (

I still don't see it. He's selling music. It's not like he's become 'Coca Cola Presents Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds'.

Is anyone able to explain in terms more extensive than 'itunes = bad'.

It's a music shop. I've never paid for mp3s before, but itunes is still just a music (and TV show and audiobook etc) shop, right?
