I started watching this last night for the first time on Netflix and I noticed the word "fuck" was used without being cut. Mad Men also used "fuck" in a couple of episodes, but it was cut. These are both AMC shows, so why would one be cut and not the other? Did they actually air "fuck" when Breaking Bad was on TV?

yeah that's odd. hbo never censors obscenities but amc is prudish for some reason. the network just won't cross that line. must be cultural or religious marketing. breaking bad will use the unseven words you can use on television but not those really naughty ones. but the really unexpected thing is i don't miss them on breaking bad. i can't imagine the sopranos without jersey obscenities. it would be like those hilarious sanitized movies they play on the networks with substitutes like "clocksucker" and motherfudger" it seems we equate gritty reality with words like cocksucker and motherfucker but breaking bad- because of the perfect writing and acting is incredibly real. i don't miss the naughty bits atall and i usually notice that right away. jesse did say "yeah i said asshole. you know what asshole means right?" and it was perfect. jesus, breaking bad and walking dead saved television this year.

Well AMC censors because I don't think they're a pay channel and they have ads. I know most channels with ads censor except IFC. I asked because I was really shocked to hear that on Breaking Bad since it is an AMC show. Does anyone remember if they aired the "fuck"?

I watched it on demand and they did say fuck.

This show in incredibly good. I thought the most recent episode was worthy of being the second to last episode of the season, but there are still 3 episodes left.

Oh my God, the second episode. Acid in the bathtub. Holy shit.

I'm liking what I've seen so far but his coughing is really getting to me.

I figure Walt's got no choice but to start all out war against Gus. This'll be good.

p.s. they edit out 'fuck' on the first-run of each ep on AMC. Although it's just fine to show blood, guts, sex, any number of murders... (not that I have a problem with that, just the idiotic US cultural hypocrisy)

I was really into this season, there was so much building tension from the first episode on. Things got really intense there towards the end, and hey I feel like I recognize that song from the closing scene ;)

this video kind of covers that, as well as a few other pretty cool things that i missed. do not watch this if you haven't finished the season.

the lilly of the valley connection is something i completely missed the first time around. at the end of the finale, they made it obvious that walt did it, but i never noticed it during the scene with the gun.

also, this was the opening image of the first episode of this season:

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't watched yet, so I'll be as vague as possible. I don't but the whole Huell exchange. There must have been another way.
