Haha, yeah - um, wait...  In all seriousness, how is that funny?  That movie had more endings than a Chinese phonebook has Chins...  Fellowship was well adapted (I don't like the books but thought it was well done).  Two Towers was pretty bad, RoTK was almost unwatchable for me.  I saw it in theaters and nearly fell asleep but was too ticked off to pass out and then attempted to extended cut.  I say attempted because it felt like I spent half the film averting my eyes from the travesty that I was confronted with.  Yeah, bad movie.

I'm no big Tolkien fan, but at this point, I think you'd be better off listing the few things you do enjoy in film, TV, and music, because it would take you a whole lot less time. ;)

I mean, I could list off a bunch of universally-acclaimed works that I'm not as fond of as most everyone else out there, but it just doesn't seem like a terribly worthwhile pursuit.  (Holy crap, I'm having deja vu here...it feels like I've typed this before.)

But do as you please, brother. :)

it is the worst movies thread - and isn't it more interesting when the comments go against the grain of "universally-acclaimed or disclaimed" works? the more the merrier!

Yeah, "Worst movies you've ever seen".  The worst of the worst.  Not "the most overrated movies you've ever seen".  Note the distinction. :P

For instance, if spastic liked Affleck's work in BvS, that movie shouldn't qualify, because clearly it had at least one notable redeeming quality to him.

We want the extremes, people!  No redeeming qualities, whatsoever!  That's where the action's at!

(Anyways, this is all in good fun.  I'm just joking around.)

Had some extra time.  Went through the whole thread and pulled the "votes." Omitted obvious trolling votes; omitted made-for-TV stuff like Sharknado; omitted when people said things like "every Steven Seagal movie".

Guys, the answer is Battlefield Earth. That should be everyone's worst movie. I know it's a cliche answer but I've never been able to make it through the whole thing, despite multiple tries.

Serena, starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence was pretty fucking terrible. And the book the movie was based on is beautiful and terrific, which made the movie doubly disappointing.

I was also trying to watch something dumb a few nights ago because I couldn't sleep. I put on Ouija. Couldn't finish it and turned it off. Terrible! And not scary in the slightest.

^ I agree, Moonstruck is great.

Be Cool is one of my favorite, go-to movies.

and which Crossroads are we talking about? Britney or Macchio?

i can't remember if I have posted in this thread or not, but the worst movie I've seen so far was S. Darko. Holy shit, what a waste of time. It was like, unreal.

Donnie Darko's little sister, Samantha Darko, and her best friend Corey
are on a country-cross road trip. They find themselves entangled in a
dangerous glitch in the time-space continuum.

It has THE SAME plot as Donnie Darko, i shit you not. It is the same movie, with the only exception that it sucks major balls.
