it's exciting, but so sad if true... i want raconteurs to continue

the raconteurs will continue for sure if this happened, we're worrying about the lack of a Greenhornes album/tour/anything right now...

by the way, how long has their website been on 'coming soon' for?

If you weren't being sarcastic i would agree with you.

but i suppose you can just go listen to your Uffie, thus liking terrible music and not appreciating classic acts such as the Raconteurs.

I think the Wolfmother stuff is just rumors. I just can't picture PK and LJ with Mr. Stockdale.

I can only see Patrick in Wolfmother no offense to LJ but judging by the Chris Ross his stage presence was almost JW like but at the same time he made it his own.

But LJ is probably better skill-wise but not stage presence.

But he can play the keys as well.

Wolfmother? You have got to be fucking kidding me.
I liked them for a while, saw a show, it was fun, but that's it.

Shoot, why would they go play/record with another band when the new Greenhornes album is done and dusted and has been sitting around for 11 months?
I don't get it, and I'd be sorely disappointed if those rumours are true. :(

i read something recently.. can't recall if it was here, or online elsewhere.. but i
know i read the sentence " since they left the greenhornes" and i am pretty sure it was someone in the know who said it. perhaps it was a slip up, but it did make me wonder.

I know it makes me look like a shit for saying this, but I don't think they care anymore. Keeler called the Greenhornes a side project back in like, May, and Craig is playing in the Suds. I mean... there's got to be animosity, spite, jealousy, whatever. I don't care how optimistic or rose-colored you see this world, if there's not the least bit of animosity from Craig I'll eat my stick of deodorant. His band fell apart while the other two went on to make millions.

Two years ago I was told The Greenhornes were over. It took me a while, but I finally believed it. I don't think I'll ever get to see them live. I don't think they'll ever release that album. They put up the new website at the start of the new year then what do we get? A Raconteurs album. Bet Craig loved that.

^ :( it makes me sad, I've just started to like them properly and I can safely say out of the Racs and Greenhornes, that I know which one is the better band.

ugh.

There doesn't seem to be any animosity between Craig and Patrick in that backstage clip from the video montage. Did you think that maybe Craig also isn't all that interested in the Greenhornes anymore?

That picture was posted 2 years ago, and I don't know about that picture in Columbus, but I saw Craig about a week later and he looked like he hated his life. I realize that he usually doesn't look like the happiest chap, but he looked truly miserable. My heart pretty much broke.

Eh, whatever. I waste entirely too much energy on wishing they'd reform.

^ great pic on Craig Fox's MySpace. they seem almost bothered by him as though he's a pathetic loser who doesn't have the money and stardom that they now have.

I mean come on, The Raconteurs are great and all, but i've really started aching for a new Greenhornes album. After hearing the East Grand Blues EP i was completely sold and picked up Sewed Soles, which opened my eyes to their more raw, garage rock material.

I know a lot of people on the forum adore this trio so I thought i'd try to renew everyones interest in the notion that they should hurry up and make a badass comeback with a badass album.

I see what your doing! Get the Greenies back together so JW can start doing some more TWS stuff.

It's not looking good for a Greenhornes reunion. One of the two people on the Wolfmother forum who broke the news of that band splitting (just before the official announcement) now says Patrick and LJ are joining Stockdale as full-time touring members...

It's been stated that the plan is to release the new Wolfmother disc in February 09. To do that PK and LJ would surely have to take time out from the Racs too. Notice there are still no confirmed tour dates for them after October 1st...
