I know there are some people here who were fans of the Flat Duo Jets so I thought I would let everyone know that Dexter and his sister Sarah are touring as the Dex Romweber Duo right now.  I saw them two weeks ago when they opened for The Squirrel Nut Zippers and I thought they were pretty great.  They have some shows coming up in SC this weekend and in the South East through Sept. if anyone is interested -

When possible, they also have the powers to become the Dexter Romweber Trio. Excellent band though, the dude's a garage rock machine, when I saw him he seemed to just have piles and piles of songs to play, and he can hold a note forever, quite the performer.

I've seen them! Supporting Cat Power in London. During Chan, Mr. Dexter Romweber spent his time charming my girlfriend's mother. !!

We saw Dexter opening for Neko in his adopted hometown of Chapel Hill and he played forever. And ever. It was sort of annoying, being that he was the opener and all, but at least it was enjoyable music. They had an item in the paper recently about the his sister joining him and the fact that he's the subject of a new documentary. Featuring Jack White and Neko, evidently.

I think part of that documentary is on Youtube Nef. I'll look for it when I get out of my meeting this morning.

Angie, the SNZ were awesome of course! They played at a place called Jim Porters that has something or another to do with Stephen Foster so when they played that song everyone went ape shit. There were swing dancers there and they seemed to like Dex pretty well. I was glad to see the crowd warm up to them, I was a bit concerned about how they'd be accepted. It was a good combo though, they played about 40 minutes. I guess the long opening sets are reserved for home shows :P

God damnit! They were at Jim Porters and I didn't know? I'm going to go hate myself now.

You have to tell me about these things.

You are never here anymore! Sorry. I will PM my show schedule to you from now on. Ryan and I saw Pearlene at The Rud about a month ago and The Ladybirds opened again (*gag)

Hey Guys,

The Dex Romweber Duo is opening the southern leg of the Cat Power tour and we are looking for a couple of routing dates. We are trying to fill in October 17th or October 23rd. Please let me know if you can help us out. If you own a club, book a club or are in a band that would like to open for Dex help us put a show together in Atlanta or Athens on these dates.

Please call or e-mail me.

Brett Steele? What the fuck? Why do they have a gay pornstar from the 70s as their manager? Pornstar at day, unmistakable force of the law at night.

DEX SIGNS DEAL WITH BLOODSHOT RECORDS - NEW CD FEATURES CAT POWER, NEKO CASE, EXENE CERVENKA
Category: Music

AMERICAN MUSIC LEGEND DEX ROMWEBER SIGNS MULTI-ALBUM DEAL WITH BLOODSHOT RECORDS NEW ALBUM FEATURES CAT POWER, NEKO CASE AND EXENE CERVENKA

SUMMER TOUR ANNOUNCED!

Bloodshot Records and Dex Romweber announce the signing of a multi-album deal - a match made in heaven between two arbiters of the edgy side of rock, R&B and country. The first album, as yet untitled, will feature duets between Dex and Cat Power, Neko Case and Exene Cervenka. Recording commences in mid-August at Overdub Lane in Durham, NC; John Plymale (Meat Puppets, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Corrosion Of Conformity) is producing. Said Nan Warshaw, Bloodshot co-owner, "Dexter's reputation as a musician's musician is well-established and so deserved, but we here at Bloodshot are also in awe of the unbridled fury and raw soul he has unleashed for decades."

The Dex Romweber Duo will stretch their legs prior to the recording with a tour that is bookended by two festival dates: Festival For The Eno July 6 in Durham, NC and the Deep Blues Festival July 19 in Lake Elmo, MN. All tour dates are listed below.
