So like. Shit. Theres seems to be a great giving community among there parts. And we all know giving is better than recieving. So like, we all know there are times when you want to get into a band, genre, or what not but find it difficult to start, and lets admit it, downloading music is boring. So what if, people filled requests for someone to make a compilation of lets say "The Smiths." Someone would say, yeah I'd do that and make it and send it. And so the giving and recieving begins as we feed off each other and grow larger by the day.

So have at you. Be nice.

EDIT: Well, Cal speaks the truth. Go look at his magical words below.

Hi all,

(Don't be confused... this was posted and moved up here on August 2007 so the following list would be easily spotted by everyone).

Here's the list of the compilations done somewhere along this thread since January 2007.

This list reflects only the Compilations, and not eventual references to isolated tracks and albums. If there is a general consensus I may easily add the author's username - but with the page number it's easy to access the post, track list, cover art and of course the author and link... though most links are dead by now...
...which may turn these comps into some collector's items :) - but I hope that the authors would be kind enough to repost them, on request.

A work in progress...!

Is it okay if we also make like 'An Introduction to' compilations just off our own backs and post them on YouSendIt or whatever? I can see myself doing that.

Heres a tip, lets try and avoid major label bands and/or fairly to very well known bands. I mean, The Cure, The Smiths, is it that hard to look into them?

Smaller bands = completly illogical to shut down this thread = profit for everyone

I want to hear that Volcano album that has been fairly well raved about, 'Beautiful Seizure'.

I'm bored of working so I'll make an introduction to Arab Strap and write a guide to go with it. Be up in a while.

I can do that.. Really enjoy it.

Also, thought I'd get the ball rolling.. So I'm uploading a selection of tracks released by Constellation records [GY!BE, ASMZ, Do Make Say Think, Lullabye Arkestra, Frankie Sparo, Carla Bozulich, Elizabeth Anka Vajagic, Hangedup, Polmo Polpo/Sandro Perri, Black Ox Orkestar]..

It's in iTunes format, but dbPower Amp can sort that easily if needed.

I'd like it if you did one too, I had been looking forward to it actually. In trying to keep mine concise, I've left out a lot of key songs. I had considered doing a part 2 if people liked them but I think a different perspective would be good. I'll post mine in about ten minutes so you can see the tracks and whatever but off the top of my head, I've left out Packs of Three, Shy Retirer and a few other key things.
